Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This course provides an overview of neuropsychology, which aims to clarify how the brain is related to psychological functions. I will introduce in detail the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional disorders (higher brain dysfunction) that can be caused by brain injury, and explain what psychological and cognitive neuroscience mechanisms can be revealed from these disorders.
It will also cover the basics of neuropsychological assessment and intervention methods such as cognitive rehabilitation, as well as neuroimaging findings in healthy subjects.

[Learning Objectives]
By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to:
1) Explain higher brain dysfunction and necessary support.
2) Outline the structure and function of the cerebral nervous system.
3) Outline the mechanisms of physiological responses such as memory and emotion.
4) Outline disorders of sensation and perception in humans.
5) Outline disorders of cognition and thought in humans.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Reviewing the biological aspects of psychology that you have studied in other courses will help you understand the content of the class better.
After the class, review the material and ask questions to the class instructor or read related books to deepen your understanding.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policies]
Evaluation will be made on the basis of the reaction papers submitted after each class (30%) and the final exam (70%).
