Outline (in English)

This course examines the complexity of social work practice in a multicultural society from the perspective of immigrants and their education and everyday life. By the end of the course, students are expected to explain the basic concepts of ethnic sensitive social work, and to discuss the significance of social workers in their understanding of social difference, oppression, and justice.
Before / after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Your overall grade in the class will be determined on the following:
In-class Contribution: 30%; Short Essays: 30%; Term-end Examination: 40%
