Outline (in English)

【Course outline】In this course, we will deepen our understanding of aging society and the real "problems" of the elderly, and consider the direction of retirement security systems, welfare policies for the elderly, and social systems for the elderly themselves and their families.
【Learning Objectives】The goal of this class is to understand the meaning of aging in an aging society. In addition, we will consider the direction of the retirement security system, welfare policies for the elderly, and social systems for the elderly themselves and their families, and look ahead to the welfare of the elderly in the future.
【Learning activities outside classroom】As preparatory study for this class, please obtain information on welfare for the elderly from newspapers, magazines, and the Internet. In addition, as a review, students are expected to organize the resumes and materials distributed during the lecture and take notes on what they have learned. The standard class time is 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria/Policies】The final exam (90%) and in-class small report (10%) will be the basis of evaluation.
