Outline (in English)

The purposes of the course are to read and enjoy American and British stories, and to have an interest in the social background. Using dictionaries, students will grasp the point of the stories and increase vocabulary. The goals of this course are to complete reading some literary short stories or novels in English and to have a discussion on the literature and the social background.
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter from the stories. Your required study time is at least one hour.
Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (30%), essay (20%), and Term-end examination (50%).
