Outline and objectives

IMPROVING YOUR ENGLISH WITH AN INTERESTING APPROACH AS DESCRIBED BELOW

Goal

This course will empower students to better their English communication skills through speaking, reading and listening comprehension. The class also offers cultural insights with a variety of exercises that will encourage student participation and enhance their desire to continue studying English.

This course will deal with specific cultural topics to help students understand that culture is much deeper and more complex than differences in clothing and cuisine. The class has a variety of activities that aim to increase student enthusiasm and critical thinking and communication skills.

Units must be read and the vocabulary and comprehension sections must be done before coming to class. Random questions may be asked to ensure that students are doing the homework. Your required study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.

Grading criteria

Homework and participation = 60%         
Test s = 40%.

Without a train delay slip, students will be counted absent if more than 15 minutes late. Maximum of 3 absences.
