Changes following student comments

Based on my own course reflections, the textbook used last year had to be changed. It has too many vocabulary and grammar exercises the students have to complete first before reaching the speaking activities. Because of this, we spent less time in speaking and discussion exercises last year. This year's book, Four Corners, has a good balance of all skills but makes it easy for the teacher to focus more in speaking. Since this is an English communication course, it is good for students to spend more time in pair and group speaking activities.

Equipment student needs to prepare

Students should bring a notebook and a dictionary. This class needs to be in a room with a projector, a projector screen, and speakers that allow for the playing of audio tracks and videos online.
