Outline (in English)

(Course outline) 
 Achieving the effective service to users requires careful planning from the point of basic design before the library is opened. I want to derive an index of library services from library statistics, consider the characteristics of users to be serviced, and consider a library image that is appropriate for the region and organization (school, university, company, etc.).
 This section will also discuss various issues related to library financial management and personnel management, and consider the effects of PFI(Private Finance Initiative), the designated manager system, and the issue of private vitality on library management in the future.

・ Students can explain the management of the public library.
・ Students can explain how to manage new public institutions such as PFI and designated manager system.
・ Students can be interested in articles about the operation of public libraries in newspapers and magazines.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
 Since the lecture will be given according to the chapter of the textbook, please read the relevant part of the textbook in advance before the lecture. The standard preparation and review time for this lecture is 2 hours each.

 Class assignments (50%), term-end reports (50%) .
