Outline (in English)
【Course outline】This class aims to gain basic understanding of the history of social studies and civic education, the goals and contents in the National Courses of Study, and teaching materials research and learning methods. Also, based on this knowledge and skills, the class further discusses how to develop lesson plans and actually design them.【Lerning Objectives】Students are able to design lesson plans on the basis of understanding the goals and contents of social studies and civic education as well as learning theories, for building competencies required as a junior and high school social studies and civic education teacher.【Learning acttivities outside of classroom】The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.【Grading Criteria/Policy】Comprehensive evaluation based on in-class contribution (40%), learning tasks (40%), reports (20%), etc.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
中学社会科（公民分野）及び高校公民科の歴史、学習指導要領に示された目標や内容、教材研究や学習指導の方法などについての基本的な事項を理解するとともに、それらの知識・技能に基づいて、学習指導案の作成を行う。
到達目標Goal
中学社会科（公民分野）及び高校公民科の教員として要求される資質・能力の育成をめざし、教育の目標や内容を理解し、学習指導理論を踏まえて学習指導案を作成することができる。

授業で配布する資料をもとに、社会・公民科の各科目の授業実践の学習などを通して、授業のねらいや目標を講義形式で行い、社会・公民科教育のあり方と課題を考えます。尚、適宜、課題学習を行い、授業内で講評や解説も行います。

学習指導案作成に向けて
授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
日頃より、社会・公民科だけでなく、広く教育や社会に関わる記事や内容に興味・関心を持ち、何が問題・課題になっているのか意識して考えるようにすること。
本授業の準備・復習時間は、各２時間を標準とします。

文部科学省「中学校学習指導要領」「高等学校学習指導要領」（最新版）等の他、適宜、参考文献を紹介します。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点（40％）、課題（40％）、レポート（20％）等をもとに総合的に評価します。
