Outline (in English)
This course deals with the basic concepts and importance of information services on modern libraries. It also enhances the development of student’s skill in information retrieval.
Before each class meeting, students will go to library and research various books to answer user's need.
Then in the class, they present their research results and submit research reports.
Students will spend more than four hours to research various books for making report.
After class they need to study about the course content.
Research reports(80%)
Presentation about their research results in the class.(20%)

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
情報サービスとは、利用者の情報ニーズに応じ、その問題解決のために、情報を提供するサービスのことをいいます。現代の図書館では重要なサービスに位置づけられています。そこで、この授業では、演習をとおして情報サービスの意義と実務について学びます。
到達目標Goal
情報サービスの設計から評価に至る一連の業務について、実践的な学習をとおして理解を深めます。具体的には、情報サービスの基本的な業務であるレファレンスサービス、情報検索サービスに関する実践力を身につけ、さらに図書館が積極的に情報を発信するスキルを習得します。

情報サービスの業務に関し実践的な力を養うため、レファレンスサービス、情報検索サービスを中心に、レファレンス・コレクションの評価、レファレンス・インタビューの技法、図書館利用教育プログラムづくりなどについての演習を行います。また、情報発信型サービスについても学びます。
学生の調査結果の発表と提出物に対し、適切なアドバイスを行います。

総括
授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
講義内容を復習し、与えられた課題について、図書館などで文献調査に取り組みます。本授業のための調査・復習時間は各4時間以上を標準とします。

参考書などは、適宜授業のなかで紹介します。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
情報サービスに関する発表、演習（課題に対する回答の提出内容）によって成績を評価します。配分は発表20％、演習80％です。授業に対する積極的な貢献度が認められる場合、最終評価の参考にします。

授業の準備（課題の回答）が大変だとの意見が見られますが、その努力、積み重ねが必要なことを説明し、学生が課題調査に取り組めるように指導していきます。
