Outline (in English)

[Outline]
The aim of this course is to learn application of Geographic information Systems using active learning (PBL and group work) using ArcGIS Pro.
In this exercise, students work in pairs to conduct Problem Based Learning (PBL).
The task is to evaluate the establishment plan of a disaster shelter in a certain area by using GIS. The students are required to submit an overall plan at the end of the third practical session. After that, the students work according to the plan. Students are required to submit a work report each time and a final report at the end of the semester. Submission of reports and feedback will be done through the learning support system (Hoppii).

[Work to be done outside of class]
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading criteria]
Grades will be determined by the final report (80%) and normal scores (20%). Attendance is a prerequisite for lectures, so students with attendance rates below 70% will not receive a grade. The final report is to write a GIS operation manual.

[Others]
Students who wish to take this course must register on Hoppii by the day before the first class. Students who do not register by the deadline will not be allowed to take the course.
The first class will be held online.
