Outline (in English)

Course outline
The purpose of this class is to learn the observation viewpoints and methods of relics, which are the basis of archeology. In the previous term, we mainly handle earthenware.
Learning objectives
The purpose is to understand the attributes related to the production and use of earthenware and to acquire the ability to estimate the consciousness and behavior of prehistoric people. It also aims to acquire the basic ability to judge when the pottery belongs.
Learning activities outside of classroom
Observe archaeological materials at museums. Also, refer to the archaeological research report in the Archaeological Laboratory to consider how the archaeological materials contain information.
Grading criteria/policy
Grades are evaluated based on normal points, work results (Jomon cord, figure, rubbing) and reports. Grades are distributed at 30% for normal scores and 70% for work results and reports.
