Outline (in English)

Course Outline:This course deals with the historical outlines of ancient Rome and the transformation of the ancient Mediterranean world.
Learning Objectives:By the end of the course, students are expected to acquire fundamental knowledge of ancient Roman history and to be able to critically think about the problems raised by ancient Rome to us, such as the logic to justify wars and the merits and demerits of Pax Romana.
Learning Activities outside of Classroom:Before/ after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria:Grading will be decided based on term-end examination (80%) and in-class contribution (20%).
