Outline (in English)
Course Outline: This course is an introduction to cognitive linguistics and construction grammar. Following “Nihon Bunpō-ron A” in the spring semester, we will focus on grammatically exceptional expressions or extended constructions in Japanese, and try to locate them in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
Learning Objectives: The objectives of this course are (1) to acquire the ability to differentiate normal (grammatical) expressions and grammatically extended expressions, and (2) to situate the latter expressions in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 2 hours to understand the course content.
Grading Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: short exam at each class meeting (60%), term-end report (40%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
This course is an introduction to cognitive linguistics and construction grammar. We will focus on grammatically exceptional expressions or extended constructions in Japanese, and try to locate them in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
認知言語学・構文文法の観点から、日本語文法について考え直すことを目的とする。授業の前半は認知言語学の基本的な概念を学び、中盤では分析事例について学ぶ。後半では、実際に学術論文を読むことで、学習した概念が言語分析にどのように利用されているのかを学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
The objectives of this course are (1) to acquire the ability to differentiate normal (grammatical) expressions and grammatically extended expressions, and (2) to situate the latter expressions in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
意味や文法における様々な「拡張・逸脱表現」について、(1)そのような表現のどの部分が「拡張・逸脱」であるのかを理解することと、(2)そのような「拡張・逸脱」が生まれたプロセスや動機付けについて、認知言語学の観点から分析・説明できるようになること、の2点が到達目標である。

▼テキストに沿って講義形式で進めるが、身近な言語事例をできるだけ多く挙げ、皆で会話をするようにじっくり進める。12月頃には、授業で学習した概念を使用した研究事例となる学術論文を３，４本読みたいと考えている。
▼授業の終わりに、理解度を確認するための小テストを実施する。
▼必要に応じて、ZOOMを用いたオンライン授業を行う。その場合は、学習支援システムの「お知らせ」でURLや事前課題などを連絡する。チャット機能を利用した双方向授業になるため、通信環境を整えておくこと。
▼リアクションペーパー等における質問やコメントへのフィードバックは次回の授業内に行う。
