Outline (in English)
Course Outline: This course introduces the Japanese traditional grammar adopted in the textbooks for Japanese public junior high schools, and points out some irregularities or bugs in it.
Learning Objectives: The objectives of this class are to understand such irregularities and to become able to explain them to someone else.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 2 hours to understand the course content.
Grading Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: short exam at the end of the each class (50%), term-end report (50%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
This course introduces the Japanese traditional grammar adopted in the textbooks for Japanese public junior high schools, and points out some irregularities or bugs in it.
小中学校の国語で習う文法は橋本進吉の理論に基づいており「学校文法」とも呼ばれている。しかし、教科書に採用されているからといって、決して完璧な理論とは言えず、不備や例外もある。どこが間違っているのか、どう修正すべきなのか、それらを考えながら、学校文法を概観する。
到達目標Goal
The objectives of this class are to understand such irregularities and to become able to explain them to someone else.
（1）国語教員が押さえておきたい学校文法の基礎を理解し、それについて具体例をあげて説明できるようになる。
（2） 学校文法の不備・例外について理解し、それについて具体例を挙げて説明できるようになる。

▼基本的には講義形式で進めるが、ずっと受身で話を聞くだけではなく受講生にも積極的に考えてもらいたいので、様々な問題・課題を授業内で与える。
▼受講者に積極的な理解を促すため、授業の最後に小テストを行う。

小中学校で習った文法にも多くの例外や不備があるということが新鮮だったとのコメントが多かった。そういった例外についてもっと深く考えてもらい、「文法は単なる暗記の授業ではない」ということを分かってもらうためにも、受講生が考え、発言する時間を多めにとりたい。
