Outline (in English)

This class deals with themes related to "Utopia".

The word utopia first appears in fiction written by Thomas More. Originally coined by Moa. Nonetheless, this concept has the regulatory functions that would be essential for the establishment of all areas, from nationalism to socialism, classical economics and ecology. In this way, we confirm how the concept of "utopia", which crosses the realms of literary imagination and politics and economics, has been discussed and implemented so far. Then I will discuss what should be the problem with this utopia.

In class, we will read literature on utopia and literary works on the subject of utopia. First, let's start with the examination of the Korean drama "Squid Game".

This concept of utopia not only became the basis of modern trends such as ecology and multiculturalism, but also influenced political movements with fatal problems such as fascism. I will also consider the question of why utopia reverses to dystopia.

Classes consist of lectures by faculty members, group work by participating students, and examination of student reports.

In order to earn credits, quotas such as a mini-report each time, four main reports, and the submission of final assignments are imposed. It's not an easy class. We hope that students who are willing to study will participate.
