Outline (in English)

Course outline:
The aim of this seminar is to acquire the knowledge and application skill of economics by reading a textbook in turn. Students also practice mathematical calculation for economics and read articles of Nikkei and Financial Times in turn.

Learning objective:
Students should acquire the skills of economic knowledge and its application. Sophomores and juniors learn how to write academic reports and how to make a presentation. Seniors find a research theme, analyze it, and write a graduation theses. All students should get use to English economic words in newspapers and academic articles.

Leaning activities outside of classroom:
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand course contents and basic concepts of economics.

Grading criteria/policies:
Final grade of sophomores and juniors will be calculated by in-class contribution 30%, a report 20%, assignments 20%, and presentations 30%. That of seniors will be calculated by a graduate theses 100%.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

この演習では、講義で学んだ経済学の知識を基礎に、経済学の初級から中級程度の知識と応用力を身につけるための輪読をします。それに必要な計算練習もします。日経新聞の中から記事を選んでその考察の報告、英文記事の輪読することで社会について考えることも目的です。

到達目標Goal

経済学の知識と応用力を身につけることが目標です。2・3年生はレポートの書き方やプレゼンテーションの技術を身につけます。4年生は研究テーマを自分で見つけて分析し、その結果を卒業論文としてまとめます。また英字新聞の経済面で使われる英語に慣れることも目標です。

対面で実施します。経済学の教科書の輪読をします。自分で選んだ日経新聞記事についての考察を報告し、議論をします。４年生は卒業研究について複数回、中間報告をします。Financial Timesの中から記事を選んで輪読をします。みなさんと私とのあいだで質問や議論を教室でします。報告や課題に対する指導や質問への回答は教室で直接私が伝えます。
