Outline (in English)

In this lecture, students will acquire the basic knowledge needed to analyze real-world problems from the perspective of microeconomics. First, we will review the theory of supply and demand, which is a basic concept in the market transaction theory. Next, we will study "game theory" as a tool for analyzing interdependence among multiple entities. In this lecture, students will learn about the application of strategic-form games and a few equilibrium concepts (i.e., Nash equilibria).

The objective of this lecture is to acquire the ability to analyze the interdependence between people, companies, nations, and other entities in the modern economy from a microeconomic perspective.

Students are required to prepare for and review the contents of this lecture for at least four hours per week. Students are expected to solve practice problems before and after the lecture to check their understanding.

Evaluation will be based on classroom examinations (100%). Details will be announced in the lecture and Hoppii.
