Improving communication, listening comprehension, critical thinking, and self-study skills.
到達目標Goal
The main aim of this course is to explore some communication strategies for sharing and discussing information and exchanging opinions on several contemporary and thought-provoking topics. Students will learn some important communication skills, build their vocabulary, and practise writing and presenting opinions, short reports, and researched information. Students will also explore several websites useful for self-study, especially for listening.

The course will combine speaking (pair work and group work) and some listening & writing practice in each class. In the first half of this semester we will work on several different topics. In the second half of this semester we will work on one bigger project. This project will give you opportunity to research, explain, discuss and present topics of your choice.
Submission of assignments and feedback will be on Google Classroom.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
Participation & work in class: 25%, homework assignments & projects: 50%, final project: 25%. There will be no tests: your grade will depend on your weekly work. Please note that you will not achieve a passing grade for attendance only: you will need to submit all assignments to pass.
