Outline and objectives

Public speaking and presentation skills: Students in this course, students will learn strategies and techniques to help them effectively make speeches based on the following speech types: informative speech, layout speech, Demonstration speech, and comparison speech. Students will put these strategies to use in making their own speeches in class based on the models presented.

Goal

This course aims to improve students' public speaking and presentation skills and build confidence by utilizing the "Three Messages" strategy: Physical message, The Story message, and the Visual message.

This course will make use of pair work and group work in practicing presentation skills and in giving speeches and presentations. The students will also learn to evaluate and provide peer feedback on their classmates' speeches. Short quizzes on Speech skills taught in class.

Feedback on submitted assignments and quizzes will be given at the beginning of the next class.
