Outline (in English)

This course gives an overview of European political history from the perspective of "Political Development" leading to democratic regimes.
"Politics" of a given society in a given era is moulded by the collective patterns of political behaviour and creative and path-breaking action of a person. We focus on those patterns, which has been forged historically and takes different forms in various societies. For that reason, it is important to take comparative and historical approach to understand "politics" in a given setting. Therefore, the course is concentrated on the European cases but has further implication to understand democratization pathways.
