Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This seminar examines “hard” cases (non-routine, atypical or controversial cases) on civil law, mainly on laws of contract, debtor-creditor, property and torts. Using case studies, we will explore how the basic legal institutions work in practice and seek out their functions and also their boundaries.
Students are required to give a presentation on the cases of their choice, and participate in class discussion.
This seminar falls under all Course Models.
[Learning Objectives]
Upon completion of this seminar, the successful students will be able to use critical thinking skills to understand the factual as well as legal aspects of the civil law cases, and develop a deeper understanding of the workings of private practice.
