Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course is for students who are at the intermediate or higher level of Japanese to build up the oral skill to make a presentation in Japanese.
Students will improve their basic Japanese skills to understand science and engineering classes and to discuss or make a presentation.

【Learning Objectives】
In this course, students will be able to do the following:
(1) Make a presentation using a resume and slides.
(2) Ask and answer questions based on their presentations.
(3) Express simple opinions and participate in discussions.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be required to give a presentation every other week. Students will be required to prepare scripts and slides before the presentation, and to watch the videos after the class for self-feedback.
Approximately one hour of preparation and review time is required for this class.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided on the basis of the following:
In-class Contribution: 20%
Assignment: 30 %
Presentation: 50 %

※ No credit will be given to students who are absent more than three
times.
※ Students who want to take the course must attend the first and
second class sessions. Those who fail to do so cannot take the course.
