Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course is for students who are at the advanced level of Japanese to develop skills required for research in Japanese.
Students will improve their writing skills to write graduation thesis-level dissertations and to make a presentation.

【Learning Objectives】
In this course, students will be able to do the following:
(1) Learn the vocabulary, expressions, and structure used in science and engineering reports and research presentations.
(2) Write an outline of their own research and experiments, as well as a graduation thesis.
(3) Give a presentation based on the contents of their thesis.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to complete all required assignments.
Your study time is at least one hour for each class meeting.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided on the basis of the following:
In-class Contribution: 20%
Assignments: 30%
Final Paper: 40%
Presentation: 10%
※No credit will be given to students who are absent more than three
times.
※Students who want to take the course must attend the first and second
class sessions. Those who fail to do so cannot take the course.
