Outline (in English)

(Outline)
This class is for advanced level students of Japanese language. The aim of this course is to provide students with the sufficient knowledge and skills for advanced-level readings of authentic Japanese.

(Learning Objectives)
By the end of this course, students should be able to do the followings:
1. to read 600-1200 letter passages.
2. to read fast and summarize the main points.
3. to be familiar with style of Japanese exams.

(Leaning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting, and to be prepared for the review quiz in the next class. Your study time is at least two hours for each class meeting.

(Grading Criteria/Policies)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Mid-term examination 20%
Term-end examination 20%
Assignments 20%
Quizzes 15%
in class contribution 25%

*Students who have missed more than 3 class meetings will not be allowed to take the term-end exam, nor acquire credit.
