Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This international business seminar is designed to understand the basic concepts of international business. The course focuses on the corporate strategy and the organizational capability of the firm. The core skills gained after the course are presentation skills in Japanese and English.
By reading a textbook, students will be able to understand inter-nationalization strategies. The students will learn how to conduct field research on small and medium sized multinational corporations in Japan. This seminar focuses on multinational corporations confronting an array of choices regarding global markets, locations for production, public relations, and cross-border decision-making processes.
【Learning Objectives】
In this seminar, students will read English texts and develop the ability to discuss in English the technical terms of international management. Students will practice basic English pronunciation, review English grammar, and develop the ability to translate English into Japanese. The goal of this seminar is for students to be able to enjoy listening to and speaking English that includes technical terms. Students will acquire specialized knowledge in business administration, improve their English conversation skills, English presentation techniques, logical thinking skills, Japanese writing skills, and communication skills. In the past, we have visited factories in Japan and overseas during spring and summer camps. Overseas, we have visited factories in Korea, China, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
We will make a decision about the 2022 school year based on the status of the spread of the coronavirus. Third year students are required to submit the results of TOEFL or TOEIC.
