Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The purpose of the seminar is to acquire methods for research on history of the industry. This seminar also aims to train in discussion and presentation skills.
I will take up the history of commerce this year and look back on how it has been developing. Since the pandemic, e-commerce has been completely accepted in our daily life. Students will examine the distribution comparing the two perspectives of life history and organization/corporate history. Students will determine the group’s research them and conduct surveys and presentations in group work.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
To explain the basic methods of analyzing industry.
To express your opinions
To divide the periods of industrial growth.
To collect and analyze input-output materials.
To write a research report.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to read the textbook, think the points at issue to discuss; After class meeting, student will be expected to conduct research based on the theme which student decided to study in each group.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following process.
・Research and presentation 50 percent by group work
・In-class contribution (discussion etc.) 50 percent
