Outline (in English)

【Outline and learning objectives】
What kinds of experiences lead to creativity in individuals and teams? What kind of mechanisms can be put in place to increase creativity in an organization? In this seminar, we will focus on the theme of "creativity management. Creativity refers to the generation of new and useful ideas and is deeply related to problem-solving, the creation of new businesses, and the creation of innovation. The goal of this seminar is to acquire knowledge of creativity as well as a series of academic research processes by producing a thesis individually or as a team. As a step toward this goal, students will learn about causal reasoning and computational social science through reading Japanese and English literature in the spring semester. In the fall semester, each group will use the data and knowledge they have collected to prepare for the presentation of their research in the inter-university seminar and the writing of their thesis.

【Goal】
(1) To be able to use specific management theories and theoretical perspectives of creativity
(2) Learn a series of academic research processes.
(3) Acquire the "autonomy" to fully exercise one's abilities both individually and in teams.
