Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
Statistics has attracted attention not only in the academic field but also in the field of business. In the management field, to make decisions such as marketing strategy or investment behavior appropriately, it is necessary to objectively decide based on data. Statistics is used there. In this course, we will learn about the basic theory of statistics. Specifically, we will learn about data description, probability, random variables and major probability distributions.

Students understand the basic concepts of statistics and can explain them to others.
Students can organize and summarize data.
Students can summarize data and discuss trends from data and graphs


[Learning activities outside of classroom]
After the class, students will review the text and materials to check thier understanding of the basic concepts.
Students are expected to solve the exercises in the textbook as homework.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
