Outline (in English)

(Course outline) Introduction to informatics I and II aim to provide a fundamental understanding of document processing, e-mail and information retrieval. In addition to it, this course especially focuses on word processing and spreadsheet calculations, and aims to provide skills for composing effective and expressive documents and presentations based on spreadsheet techniques.
(Learning Objectives) The goal of this course is to acquire the basic computer skills necessary for learning the various subjects in the specialized fields, as well as the basic methods for using computers in situations such as analyzing and solving various problems.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) Students will be required to prepare and review for computer practice according to the instructions of each instructor.
(Grading Criteria /Policy) Grading will be decided based on term-end examination or assigned exercise (60%), in-class contribution (20%), and mid-term report (20%). The evaluation method may vary slightly depending on each instructor.
