Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
Statistics has attracted attention from business as well as academia. Making good decisions in business, such as marketing and investment strategies, require objective evidence based on data, that is, Statistics. In this course, we learn basic theories of Statistics. Specifically, we will learn about data description, major probability distributions, and statistical estimation.

[Learning Objectives]
Students understand the basic concepts of statistics and can explain them to others.
Students can organize and summarize data.
Students can summarize data and discuss trends from data and graphs


[Learning activities outside of classroom]
After the class, students will review the text and materials to check thier understanding of the basic concepts.
Students are expected to solve the exercises in the textbook as homework.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
