[Course outline]
Legal Research is a subject to learn the practical skills necessary for studying the law. It includes the skills of searching, organizing and analyzing laws, ordinances, theories, etc.. It also includes the method of reading judicial precedents.
Legal Research is essential for law school students and then of course for legal professionals. So students should learn the subject firmly at the very beginning of their first year.

[Learning objectives]
The goals of this course are to
[1] acquire the professional skills in legal research
[2] develop the basic skills for creating legal documents, and
[3] improve applied ability to the changes of the law and the judicial system.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content one-credit).

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
[1] Term-end examination: 50%,
[2] Short reports & Presentations: 35%, and
[3] In-class contribution: 20%.
