Outline (in English)

This course introduces students to elements of the work of fiction, its relation to the real world, and various approaches to the work. As examples it takes Johanna Spyri's "Heidi" (1880/81) and its translations and adaptations of various forms such as movies, animations, and advertising.
Students will be expected to read Spyri's "Heidi" and the references and to watch the films outside of classroom. Your required study time is two hours for each class meeting.
Grading will be decided based on mid-term and term-end reports (80%) and in-class contributions (20 %).
