Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
First, our aim of this course is to help students understand about the relationship between macroeconomics and the environment while focusing on the Green New Deal. Second, we will learn about the theoretical background and history of environmental tax and emission trading. Climate change and energy selection are the subjects of specific environmental issues.
【Learning Objectives】
In the first half, the goal is to learn about the relationship between the macro economy and the environment while focusing on the Green New Deal, and to be able to discuss the balance between the economy and the environment economically.
In the second half, the goal is to learn about the economic methods of the environment. First, we will learn about global warming issues from both the natural sciences and social sciences as materials for these methods. After that, we will expected to understand the theory of environmental tax and emissions trading, which are economic means, and to be able to independently judge what kind of policy is appropriate to control global warming.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to deepen the knowledge relating with the course.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 70%、Three times of short quiz after learning on-demand materials : 10% each
