Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course examines labor and industrial relations in the era of globalization.
Learning Objectives: In this seminar, students will learn the theoretical and practical issues related to the world of work and discuss the current situation and challenges of our society.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before each class meeting, students will be expected to read the relevant chapter(s) from the reading assignments.. Students will also be expected to conduct some preliminary field research such as interviews and participant observations along one’s own interest during the semester in the process of preparing a term paper.
Grading Criteria: Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Term-end paper: 50%、Presentations on reading assignment: 25%、in class contribution: 25%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

社会変動と産業・労働をめぐるテーマについて、幅広く問題関心を広め、社会学的な分析枠組みを学び、同時に歴史・構造的背景への理解を深めながら現代社会における諸問題について考える。

到達目標Goal

文献購読やディスカッションを通じて、社会変動と産業・労働をめぐる多様なテーマについての理解を深め、自らの問題関心を見つけることを演習Ⅰの目標とする。加えて、各自の関心に沿ったフィールド調査を含む調査研究を踏まえ、ゼミ論文を執筆する。

授業の進め方と方法Method(s)（学期の途中で変更になる場合には、別途提示します。 /If the Method(s) is changed, we will announce the details of any changes. ）

・文献の講読：毎回担当者が報告を行い、それを踏まえて討論を行う。
・ゼミ論文：自らの関心に基づきテーマを設定し、ディスカッションを行い、聞き取り調査等を実施し、ゼミ論を執筆する。
文献は参加者の関心と照らし合わせて、産業・労働社会学・国際社会学などに関するものを選ぶ。入門・古典的な文献から基本的な発想や分析視角・研究枠組みを学び、その後、現代的なテーマについての文献を選ぶ予定（労働・雇用をめぐる転換、移民労働、格差・社会問題など）。
課題については毎回あるいは研究報告の回に論評するとともに論文等の提出物については添削を含め適宜フィードバックを行う。
