Outline (in English)
[Course Outline] In this course, students will read and read out various types of articles on many different topics so that they can grow their reading comprehension. They will enrich their understanding of stories around the world and around themselves.
[Learning Objectives] The course aims to brush up students' prior skills in reading, listening and speaking.
[Learning activities outside of classroom] Besides preparation for each lesson, students will also be expected to submit the required assignments after each class. Their study time will be more than four hours for a class.
[Grading Criteria] Grading will be decided based on assignments (50%) and final examination (50%).

英文の新聞記事を読みます。日本を含め世界の様々な場所で起こった事を、英文で書かれた記事の中で読むことにより、読解力及び報道をより多角的に捉える力が増します。
到達目標Goal
・時事英語の特徴が分かるようになること
・馴染みのある単語であっても、新しい文脈の中でより深い理解を発見し、それを実際に活用する力をつけること

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
課題提出を含む平常点が50％、学期末の「期末試験」が50％という比率で評価します。（どちらの課題も「到達目標」である英文記事の文脈理解が問われるものです。）
