Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course examines labor and industrial relations in the era of globalization.
Learning Objectives: In this seminar, students will learn the theoretical and practical issues related to the world of work, conduct individual or group research project, and discuss the current situation and challenges of our society.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before each class meeting of reading session, students will be expected to read the relevant chapter(s) from the reading assignments. Students will also be expected to participate in group research project or conduct individual research project including fieldwork such as interviews and participant observations, analyze the data, and prepare for presentations in class and a research meeting of the department.
Grading Criteria: Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Term-end paper: 50%、in class contribution: 50%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

社会変動と産業・労働をめぐるテーマについて、幅広く問題関心を広め、社会学的な分析枠組みを学び、同時に歴史・構造的背景への理解を深めながら現代社会における諸問題について考える。

到達目標Goal

文献購読やディスカッションを通じて、社会変動と産業・労働をめぐる多様なテーマについての理解を深め、自らの問題関心に基づいて調査研究を実施することを演習Ⅱの目標とする。加えて卒論を念頭におきながらゼミ論文を執筆する。

授業の進め方と方法Method(s)（学期の途中で変更になる場合には、別途提示します。 /If the Method(s) is changed, we will announce the details of any changes. ）

春学期は文献講読と調査計画、夏休みにかけてフィールドワーク実施、秋学期には学部研究発表会での発表を予定する。

・文献の講読：毎回担当者がレジュメ作成・報告を行い、それを踏まえて討論。
・フィールドワーク：各々の関心に基づき、グループ研究or個人研究を実施する。
・ゼミ論文：各自がグループ研究や個人研究のテーマからレポートを執筆、ディスカッションを行い、ゼミ論を執筆する。
・文献は参加者の関心と照らし合わせて、産業・労働社会学・国際社会学などに関するものを選ぶ。課題については毎回あるいは研究報告の回に論評するとともに論文等の提出物については添削を含め適宜フィードバックを行う。
