Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
To cultivate the ability to appropriately deal with the ethical issues that are essential for working as an engineer. The purpose is the following three items. ① Learn that technology decision-making has a great impact on society and the environment (2) Learn the problems faced and how to deal with them when dealing with ethics as an engineer. ③ Develop a sense of ownership and practical skills that are indispensable for ethical coping
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
① Understand the scope of responsibility of engineers
➁ Understand the difference between scientific and technological uncertainty and risk
③ Understand the need for engineer ethics
④ Understand the Code of Ethics for Engineers
⑤ Understand the background of ethical issues “sustainability” and the outline of efforts
⑥ Understand the way of thinking and obstacles to dealing with engineer ethics issues
⑦ Be aware of engineer ethics issues as a party
⑧ Can demonstrate practical ability to deal with ethical issues of engineers
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Pre-assignment: For the pre-assignment according to the next content, check on the internet etc., create an answer, and submit it at the beginning of the class on the day. Submit all 13 times from the 2nd time except the 1st time.
Daily thinking training: Get into the habit of thinking about how to deal with the cases that you have encountered and the cases reported in newspapers, etc. in terms of engineer ethics.
Allocate 4 hours each for preparatory study and review of this class.
