Outline (in English)

This course is designed to help you learn and understand the basic methods for water pollution control. You will also learn the various environmental issues on surface water such as lakes, streams, and ocean as well as groundwater. In addition to wastewater treatment techniques (main subjects), lectures on the environmental laws and regulations will be provided.
You can learn practical environmental knowledge required for corporate management, environmental administration, and international activities, etc. The main goal is to teach you the introductory-level knowledge useful for acquiring the national qualifications of Pollution Control Manager. By the end of the course students will learn the principal skills to clean up the wastewater chemically and biologically.
By this course, you can gain useful knowledge such as Activated Sludge process and Clarifier thickening methods. Also you will understand a number of technical terms and concepts including BOD/COD, ORP, and SS, that are used by the Pollution Control Managers and government/public officers.
