Outline (in English)

What is Europe? This question, which many present-day Europeans ask themselves, is the main theme of this course. Starting with the geographical notion of Europe as a “continent", students will familiarize themselves with its basic archaeological, ethnic, religious, philosophical, and historical aspects. Students will be encouraged to explore these areas to reflect on the modern idea of Europe as a haven of peace and the possibility or impossibility of a single European identity.
