Outline (in English)

This course will introduce students to understand colonial society consisting of diverse cultural backgrounds under colonial system of international relations. As we focus on Okinawa, students will seek to understand this region through themes include global process of colonization and decolonization, nationalism and identity, militarization as neocolonialism reflecting the complex nature of contemporary global issues. Students will be also familiar with International Studies and Regional Studies.
