Outline (in English)

We are going to read Gulliver’s Travels and some other texts written by Jonathan Swift. In Eighteenth-century Britain, cor- ruption and discord between two political factions were impor- tant political problems. In this seminar, we will discuss how Swift tried to get over these difficulties by writing ancient his- toriography and a utopian novel.
