Outline (in English)
The course will help students to improve their listening skills and enhance their confidence in using spoken Englishin conversations, small group discussions and everyday situations.

We will work on improving General English skills with a focus on listening and speaking. There will be short reading and writing exercises to help students to build their vocabulary and develop their grammatical accuracy.

Students will work in pairs and small groups in the class using English in an enjoyable and communicative way. We will work with a textbook and class activities will include listening, vocabulary development, pair-work activities, and role plays. Students will submit homework exercises and assignments on Google Classroom. Feedback will be given to students in class and via Google Classroom.

Teacher explains course and gives an overview unit 10. Students prepare a short speech abousummer vacations (2 minutes).

week 3:Unit 11; It’s a really nice city.
Describing cities. Giving suggestions. pp.72-74. Pair-work, groupwork.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
Homework (20%) In-class participation including participation in pair work activities, small group discussions and small group presentations (50%). Submission of two short written reports (30%). Homework assignments, regular attendance and active participation in class activities are required in order to pass the course.

This is a first year elective and enrollment is limited. Preference will be given to first year students.
Attendance is required. Even if absent, students are responsible for finding out and completing assignments for the next class. These can be found on Google Classroom.
Students must not use cell phones in class except for class related activities.
