Outline (in English)

Leisure is an essential, unchanging part of human nature above utility or usefulness. Leisure is associated with behaviours outside of work such as play, sport, recreation, cultural pursuits, social activities and education. This course focus on the role of leisure and recreation in society emphasizing historical processes of development and change, recent phenomena, and leisure behaviours.
The program has the following objectives.
1. Introduce students to the field of Leisure Studies
2. Provide a basic understanding of the theory and specific issues of leisure
3. Encourage students to engage in a wide variety of leisure organizations and events
