Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to help student acquire an understanding of the basic concepts of philosophy in order to give careful consideration to the matters of our everyday life that depends on vague common sense. It deals with 6 themes as follow: 1. the conflicts between the japanese culture and the free will, 2. the difference between juridical person and self-identity recognized in our social life, 3. the disintegration of the social norm to distinguish between "good" and "evil", 4. the attempt to change the instituted standard of "beauty" and "ugliness", 5. the modernization of the relation of love and sexual desire, 6. the reason to prohibit a lie.
