Outline (in English)

The hydrosphere refers to the mass of water on earth. The oceans are the major water mass on our planet, but most social activities take place in river catchments rather than in the ocean. Engineering issues found in and around inland waters such as rivers, reservoirs and lakes are highlighted in order to learn how to measure and analyze quantity and quality of water, sediment and fauna and flora in inland waters.
