Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This is an introductory German operational class for beginning German students.
Students will become familiar with native speakers, acquire accurate German pronunciation, and acquire basic grammar, vocabulary, and expressions. Students will also gain an understanding of the cultural and historical background behind German expressions as needed.
【Learning Objectives】
The goal is to be able to pronounce German correctly, to be able to understand what others say and actually speak German in certain situations of daily life, if only in elementary conversation, and to be able to respect the values of people from different cultural and historical backgrounds from learning German.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The students will learn the pronunciation and meaning of the important vocabulary used in each theme using the application.
The students will be given exercises to check and consolidate the contents of the class as review.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is approximately 2 hours each.
【Grading criteria】
A test (listening and written) will be administered after each topic is completed. An oral exam will be given at the end of the term.
Grading will be based on the degree of completion of homework and in-class assignments (30%), in-class written test (35%), and oral exam (35%), with 60% or more of the total passing grade.
If the number of absences without justifiable reason exceeds 30% of the total number of absences, the student will be excluded from the grading.
