Outline (in English)

Since the United States is home to people whose ancestors came from around the world. This lesson will shed light on the racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity in American history. It focuses on racial and ethnic inequality and discrimination, and the numerous acts to change society for the cause of freedom and human rights.

As the students learn the history and current features of the United States, they deepen their understanding of race and ethnicity and of freedom and human rights. They also learn to read historical materials, both texts and statistical data.

The students are expected to read the assigned material before the lecture.

The final grade will be calculated based on the final exam (70%) and minute papers assigned every week (30%).
