Outline (in English)

Learn the method of differentiation and partial differentiation and its application which form the foundation of mathematics required in various fields of science and engineering.

(Goal)
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1) Calculation of limit value, derivative, and partial derivative
2) Inverse triangular functions and their derivative
3) Understanding mean-value theorem and Taylor's theorem, and their applications
4) Taylor series expansion
5) Investigating the extrema of two-variable functions

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend one hour to understand the course content.
Students are encouraged to prepare for the textbook and solve the exercises (or assignments) corresponding to the previous lesson.

(Grading Criteria)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Short reports 10%, Term-end examination 90%.
