(Course outline)
Social Research refers to the process and methods of recognizing and understanding a social phenomenon by collecting data from the actual world and analyzing them.
Understanding of the social reality through social researches helps us see hitherto unnoticed matters and expand our knowledge.
Among various social research methods, this class focuses on “qualitative research,” which is independent of statistical calculations and figures, to cover various qualitative survey and analysis methods.

(Learning Objectives)
This course introduces the basic learning of various qualitative survey and analysis methods to understand and explain them. The aim of this course is to help you do a qualitative analysis with the use of qualitative survey methods by yourselves.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
You will be expected to assemble the considerations for the surveyed objects and topics with gleaning literature.
It is also important to prepare the next lecture with the deep understandings of qualitative survey consistently after each class meeting.
Your required study time is at least two hours each for before and after the classes.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Assignment: 50%,in class contribution: 50%
