Outline (in English)

In this lecture, students will learn the theory and philosophy of coaching and acquire coaching skills by practicing coaching on their own. The coach does not give any advice to the person being coached (hereafter referred to as "coachee"). Students will be able to practice coaching in their own working environment and promote the organizational development as leaders.

【Outline】
In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of leaders including corporate executives who have a full-time coach. The coach generates questions and invites coachee to the dialogue. In this lecture, you will learn what coaching is, what the dialogue between the coach and the coachee is like, and how this dialogue contributes to the growth of organizational leaders and managers and to the improvement of corporate performance.

The coaching and dialogue skills gained through this course are very important skills for leader development and organizational development in today’s organizations. They help you to:
・assist subordinates and team members in setting effective goals.
・increase the number of people who take proactive actions toward organizational goals and objectives.
・create a team which is collaborative and co-creative.

Therefore, the practice of 1-on-1 coaching leads not only to the development of the leader in front of you, but also to the transformation of the entire organization.

Coaching can only be acquired through practices. Therefore, in this lecture, participants will practice coaching outside of the lecture with coachees they chose by themselves, and the lecture will proceed by handling the insights and learnings gained through those experiences.

【Target Audience】
Anyone who wants to become a manager who can influence his/her own team in various aspects of leadership, motivation, team building, and career, as well as a leader who can transform the entire organization. Small, medium or large companies, any type of job is acceptable.
